Edit custom fields of the customer record
Customize Client Records to Fit Your Business Needs
With custom fields, you can enrich each client record in Cadulis with specific information: contract number, access codes, internal notes, etc.
These fields are useful in exports, reports, or in the client portal.
This guide explains how to add, edit, or delete these fields according to your organization.
🔍 Accessing Client Field Configuration
- Left sidebar menu → Settings
- Click on Business Units
- Select the desired Business Unit
- Click on Configure
- Expand the Advanced Configuration section
- Click on Custom fields for client record
➡️ You will access a visual editor identical to the one used for activity and closure forms.
➕ Add a Custom Field
- Click on Add a field
- Choose a field type:
- Short text, Text area, Date, Time, Dropdown list
- Checkbox, Signature, GPS, Photo, File, etc.
- Fill in:
- Technical code (no spaces, accents, or special characters)
- Visible label (what the user will see)
- Display order
- Default value (optional)
- Description or additional options depending on the type
⚙️ Display Conditions (optional)
- Click on Display conditions
- Add one or more conditions
- Example: display this field only if another field has a certain value
- Choose a logical operator: AND or OR
- Click on Add a field to confirm
➡️ The field will appear immediately in all client records, below the standard fields.
✏️ Edit or Delete a Custom Field
To edit:
- Click on the field in the list
- Edit the label, code, order, or options
- Click on Save
To delete:
- Click on the red “no entry” icon
- Confirm the deletion
⚠️ All existing values associated with this field will be deleted.
Make sure to export your client database beforehand if necessary.
- All roles with access to client records will see these fields.
- Fields can be used in triggers, custom reports, or on the client portal.
- In the client export (via “Export client database”), custom fields are grouped in the
Data
column:
format [field_code] : value
.
- You can create conditional fields to improve readability.
- Custom fields can be edited or deleted, but cannot be duplicated.
